Congratulations Kara!

It's been a very special summer for Kara and I giving birth around 3 months apart to our baby girls…Kara our Co-Buyer had her first baby girl, Parker Jane Hatch on August 18th at 10:25am.  All of us at PL couldn't be more excited for her and hubby Ryan on their new little bundle of cuteness.

Kara and I have been pregnant together at the last few markets and can't wait to bring our girls to the upcoming market in October…Look out for multi-tasking mommies; I'm sure you will enjoy some fun pics :).  Our market entourage is growing and we're excited to introduce the new besties (Gracey and Parker) to the group :)…hopefully the besties will follow in their mommies footsteps.  

Kara, congratulations on being a momma and the starting steps to your beautiful family.  We LOVE you!  Parker is truly blessed to have a mommy like you :).  Your are beautiful from the inside out and I know Parker will be just the same!

Rose Bowl with Jenny!

Call me crazy since I JUST finished Los Angeles Market but I decided to go to the Rose Bowl Flea Market this past Sunday with my darling friend and "design girl" Jessica Packard from With Love Design.  Her and I share a love for mid century modern, a similar design aesthetic and a great appreciation for the amazing ART of design.  Needless to say, she was the perfect partner in crime :).  Of course Gracey was there too, she's my permanent partner in crime these days and she was a perfect shopping angel.  

Jess and I found some treasures and enjoyed a super fun girls day in Pasadena.  If you've never been to the Rosebowl Flea Market it's a really fun way to spend a Sunday morning or afternoon.  The entrance price drops the later you get there, I can't decide whether you get better deals going later because vendors want to sell more, or if you miss out on extra special finds by not getting there early enough?  I'm still undecided so I will keep trying various times of going and let you all know. 

I scored an amazing EAT sign in my favorite chevron print that lights up and will soon adorn the top of my hutch with all my dishes…totally makes waking up at 5am worth it.  Found some great vintage jewelry you can find at Pink Lagoon and overall had an uber inspiring day.  

I get so many design ideas by frequenting this great market, find one of a kind treasures for my home and great vintage jewelry to put in the stores. It is always such a thrill!

Health: Pineapple Brakfast Sandwich

Ingredients: 

• 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh pineapple
• 4 tablespoons Neufchatel or part-skim ricotta cheese
• 2 slices whole grain bread, toasted
• 4 large strawberries, sliced
• 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
• 
  
• Method: 

  In a small bowl, combine pineapple and Neufchatel and then spread evenly on bread. Top with strawberries and walnuts and serve.

  PER SERVING:220 calories (120 from fat), 13g total fat, 5g saturated fat, 20mg cholesterol, 230mg sodium, 21g carbohydrate (4g dietary fiber, 8g sugar), 8g protein

PL Holiday Dinner
