Fashion: Looks We Love

We absolutely love this subtle pairing of peach and print. This is a great look for at-work during spring or summer! Play with color and pattern by pairing a solid color bottom with a printed silk blouse. Classy, chic, and of course, stylish ;)

Inspiration: Wendy's Lookbook

We absolutely love this look with its pop of color, as well as the add of a colorblock accessory; Tiffany & Co bag. Wendy completes the look with a jeweled belt and simple earrings.

Mix your pastels with nude for a classic spring look! The color combo is refreshing and feminine, along with the classic staple nude pumps. This look is perfectly completed with a beautiful statement necklace from Anthropologie :)

This is a great day time casual look, added with layering bracelets and a watch. We love these nude Valentino heels, paired with casual denim, and an urban trench by All Saints.

Lifestyle: Gratitude :)

Out and about in West Hollywood today with Katie, who is looking adorable in these simple cut off shorts, light sweater, bowler hat and scarf!

We came accross our favorite Cafe, Cafe Gratitude, in Hollwyood. All meals are vegan and gluten free! We never leave this restaurant without feeling refreshed, healthy and alive :)

Victoria in a floral maxi and striped sweater for spring! Oh so boho ;)

Our favorite meal from Gratitude called, "I am Whole"; a wholesome combination of quinoa, seaweed, kale, black beans, squash, sprouts, almonds and other healthy veggies to properly fuel our systems!

Style Inspo: Fashion Week Fall

Get a head start on upcoming trends from our Fashion Week inspo for Fall! Some of our favorite trends from Fashion Week  are oversized blazers and jackets. The heavy volume makes you want to snuggle up in your favorite warm fabrics for the cold, and will look great with tights and skinny jeans. This also goes for our faux fur lovers . Smooth surfaces ,such as soft leather jackets with clean tailored cuts, are a must for the sake of endless posh beauty for this Fall. Heavy texture will also be used as more of a focal point rather than with a combination of other textures. Translation: instead of wearing that multi-colored tweed jacket with a neon floral dress, where a plain black dress and throw that multi-colored tweed jacket over it for chic simplicity. Less is always more ;). photo source

Cocunut Curry Sauce Receipe from Girls Gone Strong

  • Raw organic coconut butter
  • Canned coconut milk (or organic chicken broth)
  • Steamed broccoli florets (I prefer small pieces)
  • Shredded carrots
  • Red or vidalia onion
  • Baby bella mushrooms
  • Garlic salt or fresh garlic and sea salt
  • Curry powder
  • Dash of cinnamon, if desired
  • Crushed red pepper or minced fresh jalapeno
  • Shrimp (cooked or uncooked) or chicken-or really any protein source for that matter

  • Depending on your protein choice, you may need to cook separately and set aside. I suggest cooking to almost done, and then simmering in the sauce.
  • Caramelize the onions: Slice very thinly and add to a lightly greased pan set on high. After stirring for one minute, reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes while you prepare the rest of the food.
  • In a separate pan, brown the mushrooms. Don’t crowd them or they won’t brown! Instead they will get soggy.
  • Set aside mushrooms, onions, meat and add a Tablespoon of coconut butter to a sauce pan on medium-high heat.
  • Add a 1/4 cup coconut milk (or a 1/2 cup broth), as well as garlic salt, pinch of curry and red peppers. Stir, and bring to a low boil, the reduce heat to low-medium. Add the rest of the ingredients, and stir to coat. If you want your sauce thinner, add more liquid. If you want it thicker, keep the heat higher to thicken.

Daily Om: Beyond Counting Your Blessings

Our gratitude deepens when we begin to be thankful for being alive during this time and living the life we are living.

Often when we practice being thankful, we go through the process of counting our blessings, acknowledging the wonderful people, things and places that make up our reality. While it is fine to be grateful for the good fortune we have accumulated, true thankfulness stems from a powerful comprehension of the gift of simply being alive, and when we feel it, we feel it regardless of our circumstances. In this deep state of gratitude, we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself, and our thankfulness is part and parcel of our awareness that we are one with this great mystery that is life.

It is difficult for most of us to access this level of consciousness as we are very caught up in the ups and downs of our individual experiences in the world. The thing to remember about the world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unreliable. If we only feel gratitude when it serves our desires, this is not true thankfulness. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way. Illness and near-miss accidents can also serve as wake-up calls to the deeper realization that we are truly lucky to be alive.

We do not have to wait to be shaken to experience this state of being truly thankful for our lives. Tuning in to our breath and making an effort to be fully present for a set period of time each day can do wonders for our ability to connect with true gratitude. We can also awaken ourselves with the intention to be more aware of the unconditional generosity of the life force that flows through us regardless of our circumstances.
